Attractions in & Around Manali You Must Check-Out

Often referred as “Switzerland of the East”, Manali is a colossal beauty that is always picture perfect. The enticing hill station is one of the most visited destinations especially during summer, when most part of India is affected by charring heat. Apart from its balmy temperature & cool climate, the hill station has a lot more in store for you. Some of the famous places around Manali are:

Marhi

Marhi is a barren landscape located on the Manali-Leh Highway. It offers extensive vistas of the snowy mountains and the valley.  The flat highland is confined on all sides by lush green hayfields dotted with numerous wild flowers. It is mostly transit place for visitors who wait here for the ferocious weather at Rohtang Pass to improve for easy accessibility mostly during winters. It is also the stopover place for those travelling through the highway to eat something and continue their journey forward.

Nehru Kund

Located on the Manali-Keylong road, the Nehru Kund is a famous attraction in Manali. It is a natural spring of pristine cold water that was named after the Lt. Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, who used to drink water from this spring during his stay at Manali.

Malana Valley

Malana valley is the side-valley to the Parbati Valley, located a few kilometers away from the Kullu Valley. The village of Malana is overshadowed by the elevated snowy peaks of the Chandrakhani and Deotibba and also has a river. The quaint village is far-more away from induistrialization and has been the topic of two documentaries Malana: Globalization of a Himalayan Village, and Malana, A Lost Identity.

Arjun Gufa

Located a few kilometers away from Manali, Arjun Gufa is a cave situated near the Prini village a place where Arjuna had meditated, one of the Pandava brothers, to obtain the 'Pashupati Astra' from Lord Indra.
